Our Volunteer Stewards are vital to the smooth running of the festival, helping to welcome visitors and assist with events.

SPECIFIC TASKS YOU MIGHT BE ASKED TO DO:

• Atttend a festival briefing.
• Meet and greet speakers.
• Help on the bookstall; help manage the book signing queue.
• Help with refreshments.
• Take tickets on the door; manage the queue; show people to seats;
• Manage the roving mic for audience questions.
• Rearrange seating configurations when required.
• Check stage is set up correctly and provide on-stage refreshments for speakers.
• Check the Green Room / seating areas in the venue are clean and tidy.
• Keep events strictly to allocated times.

Our Venue Managers are paid temporary members of the team.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

• Attend a festival briefing.
• Meet and greet speakers.
• Be familiar with the festival programme, facilities at the venue, access to other venues.
• Brief the stewards on event specifics at the venue such as looking after speakers, stage set-up, doors open / late arrivals, managing the queue, seating arrangements & reserved seating, accessibility needs, audience flow through the venue and book signing, keeping the venue clean and tidy.
• Ensure the audience is seated prior to the event and that the venue is clear ahead of the next one.
• Troubleshooting.
 
Venue Manager Rate: £12.50 per hour
